PHILADELPHIA HOUSING AUTHORITY PHOTOVOLTAIC PROJECT
Finley Shapiro Consulting planned and designed grid-connected photovoltaic systems
for 22 homes owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority, 18 in the Greater Grays Ferry Estates in South Philadelphia and 4 in the Cecil B. Moore Homes in West Philadelphia. Some of the solar panels at the Greater Grays Ferry Estates are visible from the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) on the route from the Philadelphia International Airport to downtown Philadelphia. Each system has a rated power of 1.11kW, for a total project size of 24.42kW.
The systems were installed by the Keating Construction company under the direction of Finley Shapiro Consulting, and were completed in December 2005.
